New York City Directory, 1869
Description
In 1869 the City of New York covered roughly the same area as the County of New York, but did not include areas of Bronx, Kings and Queens counties which later would become part of the city. This database is a directory of city residents in that year and includes the names of over 188,000 persons. Along with the name of resident (which is displayed surname first) is their occupation, business address and home address (preceded by a lowercase h). For researchers of ancestors who lived in New York City this database can be an extremely valuable tool.
